About the Center:
Mission
The Center for Interprofessional Studies’ mission is to design, facilitate, support and evaluate SHRS interprofessional education that translates into improved individual and population health outcomes.
Vision
Our vision is that all SHRS students and alumni are prepared to collaborate across professions to improve population and individual health outcomes through high quality team-based care.
SHRS Center for Interprofessional Studies Competency List
The Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Core Competencies serve as a unifying and guiding interprofessional framework throughout the health professions and are embedded into both curriculum and accreditation standards. Through a multi-step process, SHRS stakeholders identified guiding principles unique to our culture, practice, and research. SHRS guiding principles that are described under an IPEC Competency are linked in the same row in the table below. The SHRS CIP vision includes an objective to identify curricular and extracurricular opportunities so that each SHRS student can be exposed to the IPEC Core Competencies and SHRS Guiding Principles prior to graduation.
